Thursday, November 1st: Scotch Basics
Two Seatings: 6pm and 7:30pm
In this session, we taste half-ounce samples of single-malt Scotch from each of the five primary regions of Scotland.
Lowland: Auchentoshan 12-Year
Highland: Glenmorangie 10-Year
Speyside: Balvenie Doublewood 12-Year
Islay: Laphroaig 10-Year
The Islands: Talisker 10-Year
(Nothing from Campbeltown this time; sorry Glen Scotia, Glengyle, and Springbank enthusiasts!)
Thursday, November 15th: Quasi-Scotches
Two Seatings: 6pm and 7:30pm
In this class, we’ll taste samples of single-malt, Scotch-style whiskies from outside of Scotland. This is the weird stuff that makes us all insanely curious and excited, but which we rarely get to buy or try because bottles are both pricey and hard to come by–even single glasses are often outrageously expensive. This is a great chance to sample some fun, exotic, and unique liquors without breaking the bank!
New York: Hudson Valley Single-Malt
Japan: Suntory Yamazaki 12-Year Single-Malt
France: Brenne Single-Malt
Taiwan: Kavalan Concertmaster Single-Malt
Oregon: Clear Creek McCarthy’s Single-Malt
