THIS WEEK'S EVENTS AT THE LOST DOG CAFE
Ithaca, NY
JULY 10, 2009 (FRIDAY DOORS @ 7 FOR FULL MENU AND DRINKS , MUSIC @ 9ISH)
Crow Greenspun Band w/ Bronwen Exter
CROW GREENSPUN
Originality is strongly evident Crow's songcraft, as well as a regard for American folk, rock, soul, and hip hop traditions. His writing is clear, vivid, autobiographical, narrative and candid. Recurring themes in his work are: family, honesty, trial, honor, discipline, forgiveness, morality, non-conformity, fate, love, and loss. His music is insightful and endearing in its sincerity.
“’Blood and Decision,’(Crow Greenspuns second release on I-Town Records) is a flat-out masterpiece, a confident mix of everything from hip-hop to back porch finger-picking ballads.” -Bryan VanCampen, The Ithaca Times

BRONWEN EXTER currently resides in NYC, but is a native of Ithaca! Here's some press...
"OK, picture this: Lou Reed and Astrud Gilberto have a baby. She's raised by the band Mazzy Star until the age of 16, when she falls in love with James Bond and runs away to Argentina. Got it? The soundtrack for this story is the music of New York resident Bronwen Exter. Hypnotizing you with her husky, half-whispered vocals, she'll thrill you with the mixture of samba, tango and NYC cool, and entice you with lyrics about dreams, pain and roads from the moon to the sun
- Mare Wakefield, Performing Songwriter (Top 12 DIY Pick in PS's 100th issue)
"The down-tempo songs of 'Elevator Ride'—highlighted by Exter's husky, reverb-heavy vocals—are noir-tinged, ethereal and spare."
– Natasha Li Pickowicz, Ithaca Times
"Now based in New York, Exter recently released an excellent CD, 'Elevator Ride.' It's full of hip, noir-ish songs that ooze atmosphere and sensuality."
– Jim Catalano, Ithaca Journal

WELCOME
TO THE LOST DOG CAFÉ ITHACA!
The
café has been described as funky, fun, eclectic, and unique offering a
comfortable, casual atmosphere with a little extra for anyone looking for
something different from the norm.
The Lost Dog Cafe was started in 1994 by a couple of displaced NYC East Village "Cafe Junkies" in Binghamton, NY.
Our first incarnation was furnished on a Shoestring budget in an old garage with mismatched tables & chairs.
Our love of good food, good people and a strong sense of community served as our inspiration.
We moved to our current home at 222 Water Street, Binghamton, New York in 1997.
Some of us found Cayuga Lake, the Finger Lakes Region in general, and Ithaca in particular, too beautiful to resist and officially made it our home.
With us comes the Lost Dog Cafe! We offer Ithaca innovative food prepared with fresh ingredients & vegetable stock (no MSG or chemicals) made to order.
It has taken over a year to transform the former Morris Men’s Clothing Store into a restaurant.
The Lost Dog Cafe Ithaca has been a labor of love - we hope you enjoy it.
All
seating is based on a first come/first serve basis.
If you do have to wait, don’t fret! Enjoy
a warm cappuccino or refreshing herbal tea
in the cozy lounge area. At
the coffee bar you will find a wide variety of delicious coffee and tea
drinks made to order. On your
way to an all-nighter? Mama’s
Racehorse will do the trick... four (that’s 4!) hits of espresso
guaranteed to “keep you shakin’ from 8am to 2pm”.
The bar also serves a variety of wines, imported beers and microbrews.
Love
our food and want to share it? Catering and private parties are available upon request.
Be sure to give our guestbook a sign before
you leave... and come
on down and see us in person real soon!
