My colleagues and I ate at the Binghamton Lost Dog Cafe this past Tuesday. The food was absolutely delicious. My favorite part was the dessert. I had Good PMS. It's made with a delicious WARM chocolate brownie, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, whipped cream and chopped nuts. Yummy, yummy yummy!!! The next time I'm in town, I'm heading back to the Lost Dog Cafe.
Just read my brother Van's post from 2005 he was 100% right, I even have a keepsake on my wall next to his picture.
I have very fond memories of the Lost dog With my brother Van (Binghamton) few dinners, lunch and one outstanding evening with friends and our Mom at the release of his book for BU. He loved the dog and every one knew him.

The food is just as wonderful, the menu is so diverse and appealing that you can't decide. The food is great, the staff is warm and friendly and you can't wait to go back.
I spent my very first night in the USA in Binghamton and my first (and best!) real american burger in LostDogCafe ! Highly recommanded from me and my girlfriend Nicole. We love the great room with the bricks and the real good mix of all generations. That´s life !!
The Lost Dog Cafe has been my favorite restaurant for at least 7 years! Their food is amazing!!! It's a really good place to eat if you are vegetarian, too, as they have tons to offer! The atmosphere is funky, they've got great music, fun waiters, and good service! Yay!

I enjoyed the Aqualung debut CD I heard during my last visit to the Lost Dog, on March 6. That was 10 years to the week after the first time I had ever read poetry at the Lost Dog. I am hoping to read at the Binghamton Underground Poets open mike on Friday the 7th.
Hey Lost Doggies! Went to Mardi Gras 2006 on Tuesday and I think this was THE BEST so far! Had the catfish, out of this world and the band rocked. You guys are so much fun!

Stopped in Lost dog in Ithaca while visiting and thought it was fantastic. First time I was ever there. We have one here in Binghamton but never had the chance to go yet. Glad I was able to, I will for sure stop in now. The food was great.

My favorite place in the Triple Cities to relax with friends and eat great food. Never miss a Mardi Gras and will be there for the Mardi Giving..can't imagine losing that music and food. Will help any way I can.

Whose creates a raspberry sauce to cover chicken breast and serves it over carrots and mashed potatoes? I mean really, who DOES that?? I havn't been in town (Ithaca) for awhile, but I'll always remember my dinner here. It was fabulous! And the service was wonderful. Our waitress was great! (Wish I could call her out on it, but I no longer remember her name.) Rock on!

The Sun-dried Tomato Dip is absolutely amazing.. I could stop in for that and a cup of your fantastic coffee any day and never get sick of it. Keep up the amazing food and music - Binghamton needs it!
I enjoyed a teriffic meal at the Ithaca Lost Dog last week- Peppered Tuna Steak (cooked exactly the way I ordered it - medium rare) on Salad Greens with Artichokes and Red Onion, Cajun Clam Chowder( with tons of clams and just enough cajun spice to warm my tongue but not enough to bring tears to my eyes) and Vegan Fruit Cobbler(cinnamon-y with a crunchy brown sugar crumble and not too much sweetening)! Nick was a super waiter - very attentive and well-informed yet not hovering. Thanks Jason!

I wanted to say hi. I used to frequent the old garage/cafe back in 1993 when it was first built. I hung out there with my then-boyfriend Rodney Colon who waitered there. I thought of the cafe and wondered how it was doing. It is great to see that it has moved to a great location and expanded into Ithaca! Salut!
We stopped in for the first time last weekend during a visit home! It was great to sit on the sofa and drink a good bottle of french wine with our friend Peter (thanks Pete) and watch Ithaca walk on by. We'll be back.

MY EXPERIENCE THIS WEEKEND FOR THE BRIDAL FAIR WAS SUCH A GREAT PLEASURE. THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING.IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND A MEAL THAT LOOKS GREAT AND THE TASTE IS UNBELIEVABLE.IM NOT BROWN NOSING EITHER,JUST CAUSE MY SISTER IS NIKKI AND FRIENDS WITH MARIE.IAM AS REAL AS THEY GET.

I miss my Marie, she worked at the Lost Dog in Ithaca. She witnessed me chugging a Guiness through a straw in less than 12 seconds; however, it was not quick enough. The second time I tried the new record was 8. Damn, maybe next time. Anyways, the Lost Dog Cafe in Ithaca is the best. They have excellent line-ups for music as well as a great selection of wines. I was struck the story of Clarisse and how similar it is to the story of my chihuahua Mika. Mika too wears a rhinestone collar and "found a home" in snow country with me. I have numerous photos of her in mini reindeer antlers and festive sweaters as well.
Just love the website and hope to visit the cafe sometime.

A GROUP OF US WERE IN TOWN ON BUSINESS OVER THE WEEKEND AND WE STAYED AT THE REGENCY BEST WESTERN. YOUR PLACE WAS ALL WE GOT TO SEE OF BINGHAMTON, THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL, AND WE ONLY HAD TO CROSS THE STREET TO HAVE A GREAT TIME EACH NITE. WE CAME TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY BENEFIT DRAG SHOW AND IT WAS BETTER THAN SHOW'S WE'VE SEEN IN NYC!! I came down on Sunday night for your Humane Society Benefit. It was my first time at the Lost Dog, I came because I am an animal lover and wanted to support the cause. I am so impressed by the work that the Lost Dog group did on behalf of the Animals who need homes in our community. I have never seen a drag caberet performance before, and it was wonderful, so much fun! You folks really care about the community! Thanks to Tami and the gang for doing such a nice thing. I will be coming to the restaurant for lunch and dinner now that I know what a great place it is.
Thank you so much to the entire staff and all of the ladies who performed at the "Rhythm of the Night" show to benefit the Humane Society on October 17th!!! MMMmmmm Yummy. Any place that has a coffee MENU gets my attention. I had a terrific dinner while I was in town for the Chris Thater bicycle races. HINT - the race hotel is right across the street - you would get even more hungry bike racers if you put a small ad out or had flyers ... Broome County sponsors the event. My only regret is that you are not open on sunday. What better way to prepare for a bike race than a bowl of soul cafe latte and some french toast or pancakes ... HINT HINT ....

I was at the Lost Dog for the first time a couple of days ago. The place was packed and I didn't feel like waiting because I was so hungry, but my companions convinced me to stay. I have to say that it was worth every second of the wait!
I loved my meal, the service was a little bit slower than I would have liked, but the staff was entertaining and the musical selection, although a bit loud, was great(Bowie, Miles Davis, and the Clash all in one hour- imagine!) To sum up- whenever I'm in town, this will be my spot of choice! Hope to catch some live music next time. Thanks for a great experience!
I just want to take this opportunity to say that you have the best place in Binghamton. I always recommend you to out-of-town guests, and people who I bring there for the 1st time automatically fall in love with the place. As a NYC transplant, I love coming to "The Dog" because it gives me that feel of being down in the village. Keep doing what you do. Much more success to you all.
I would visit this site everyday if it posts the soup of the day. So affordable, so delicious. Also, the spicy shrimp corn chowder soup I had a while back (in Ithaca), was the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. Please put it on the permanent menu.

My caffiene addiction which started at your old garage has developed into a 16 ounce energy drink that is quickly sweeping through the southwest portion of the US. When we get to Binghamton your first case is on me. Funny how we never know while experiencing them which moments may change our lives forever!
My social calender revolves around functions at the Lost Dog, lunches with clients at the Lost Dog and dinner parties or just an evening out at the Lost Dog. It is the flavor of a big city in a small community environment with the food made to show the taste of those who care. Thanks for always being the best.

Man oh man, I can't believe I haven't looked at this site in all this time. To think it's almost ten years since I walked in off the cold street one night and won the first Lost Dog Poetry Slam (yikes!). That night is still charged like a flashbulb in my mind, as well as numerous other memories connected with both the old and new cafe. You're now impresarios of upstate cafe culture, but to me you'll still be the funky place I knew was home during my SUNY sojourn. I'm no longer a coffee addict but still scribble and jot here in the city. Something about the Lost Dog, standing out among the Binghamton grey makes it precious to this day. Thanks again for letting me get strange people together, to recite strange poetry, in an equally strange place made welcoming by the Lost Dog. I hope to make it up there sometime soon. -Alex

I love lost dog, it is so amazing the people are so cool the food is great and the atmospher is awsome, i love the chciken salad w/italian and sweet potato fries, and the balsamic chicken, and everything else :)

Great job on the Lost Dog. Binghamton would surely benefit from opening more places like yours downtown. It would be nice to have more alternatives to the Vestal Pkwy and the unoriginal chains it hosts. Perhaps you should be involved in the city/regional planning efforts.
After moving to NYC to act, I've been looking for a place to match the charisma and panache of the Lost Dog, I am still looking. You got a great place there.
I have visited the lost dog café on numerous occasions at Summer and will be back this christmas to enjoy a meal with friends.
I have got to get there for lunch. The Professor of Hotel and Restaurant Management at BCC raves about you! He doesn't do that about many places. Maybe I will apply and do my internship there! My daughter has been asking me to take her there, hopefully I can soon! Great Job! Can't wait for the experience!

how are things on the right coast. i don't know if anyone ever reads any of these but i thought i'd give it a try. i miss you all and hope the summer season is treating you well. we just got over a terible heat wave but it's finally over now. sorry i don't have anything terribly interesting to share. i went to the san fransisco gay pride parade which was super crazy (lot's of nakedness) and i spend a lot of time out at the ocean, but mostly i've been enjoying not working and having a very relaxing vacation. as things look now i should be back in august so i guess i'll see you all then. xoxox sage

We never heard of the Lost Dog until we read an excellent write up about it in the WOWCNY Newsletter. We decided to try it out for dinner on our way down to PA last week. It was very good, and we had dinner again on our way back to Syracuse. We'll be back, as we travel to PA twice every month.

Cheers to my favorite restaurant! Every time I have people in from corporate, they are shocked that we have such a great place in Binghamton!! I am always recognized by the friendly staff when I arrive, probably because I usually have an even bigger fan with me- my 5 year old son!! Dane LOVES the grilled chicken salad (with Ranch dressing and extra chick peas!!)
as an early (and frequent) customer from the days on Main St, upon coming back yet again last month, I must say keep up the good work!...and I still have my old-school lost dog t-shirt and wear it with pride

When we lived in Binghamton, the Lost Dog was a favorite rendezvous. My son loved his LDC sweatshirt until time took its toll and even he had to admit it was time to say goodbye to it.

I was in town visiting relatives and they suggested that I try out the Lost dog cafe as they are regulars and I was totally impressed.
I normally would never do this kinda thing, but it was just that good.
I had Rigatoni ala Vodka and it was superb. My waitress was a beautiful young girl named Jennifer and she was as delightful and professional as I have seen.
I am from Buffalo, but rest assure that next time I am back in this area I will be back!!!

Hi ya'll! I worked at the Lost Dog sometime back in the mid 90's. Damn, it's the only thing that preserved my sanity there in Binghampton that winter. Drinking my 5th espresso and listening to Portishead while watching the snow fall down on the little old ladies carting groceries home over the snowdrifts, I would think to myself, what the hell am I doing here?
At least there was the Lost Dog. Congratulations on the new Ithaca place! Me, I'm a chef on Oceanographic Research Ships now, going places warm.....
Spent a wonderful afternoon with friends and jazz at your place. Such great music, good friends and tasty food. And wine too!

Oh, how I miss The Dog! I'm an old-school dogger from back in the day . . . when the cafe was a converted garage, we smoked outside in the 'sandbox', the chairs were mismatched, black and white open journals adorned the tables, and there were a million and one lips on the restroom wall. Can I just say that even here, in La-La Land, I've yet to find anything better. Missing you like crazy, Dee in LA. PS: What ever happened to that sexy, German waiter "George"???

I moved to Orlando, Fl three years ago, and I still miss Lost Dog! There are no good coffee shops down here . . . expand southward!

I haven't been to the new "dog", I used to go when it was ion Main Street when I was in high school...I loved it then, sure I will now too...used to always get the grape flavored club soda stuff...loved it!
The food at the "Dog" is great! I love the atmosphere and there is always such a mix of personalities! This is a great dining experience. Love the basillico and Tiramisu!!!

We went there twice, so much we appreciated everything, from the atmosphere to Billy Fuster's Jazz. This was in the same week Billy had his name on Metrocity's "Hall of Fame". We will return very soon!

Saw the review of The Lost Dog in the local paper and decided to check out your web-site. Very nice. Our daughter lives in New Jersey and is a vegetarian. We introduced her and her family to The Lost Dog several years ago and now it is a must every time they come to visit. Our daughter gets so mad because she lives an hour from NYC and we have more coffee houses, good restaurants and an ever increasing number of great events in our area than she does. Thank you for sticking with downtown Binghamton.
After looking through your web site I have made up my mind....next time hubby and I go out to eat it will be to Lost Dog Cafe. My already daughter goes there quite a lot.
Thank god none of my dogs are lost, but I often lose my appetite trying to get a decent vegetarian meal in this town. Thank you for your innovative menu and for the cafe itself!!!

I didn't realize that you had a cafe' when you bought your chihuahua last spring. I really enjoyed the site and made me hungery hearing about all the good food. You website is great. I must make one correction concerning Clarese. She is not lost. Clarese resides in Canine Heaven. She is happy, healthy and brand new. She watches over the Lost Dog Cafe and greets everyone that come in at the door. If you look for her with your heart, you will see her.
