Science Cabaret! Free & Open to the Public!
Science Cabaret... Free & Open to the public! Science Cabaret is a free montly event held on the first Tuesday of the month. It is free & open to the public. Doors open at 6:00 pm for those who want dinner or drinks, talk begins at 7:30. Science Cabaret was started at Lost Dog Cafe by David Sloan Wilson, SUNY Distinguished Professor Departments of Biology and Anthropology, Director of EvoS. Science Cabaret was insipred by the Cafe Scientifique movement (http://www.cafescientifique.org) which started in Europe in the late 1990s and has spread rapidly. Cafes Scientifiques promote public engagement with science by eschewing a lecture format in favor of informal talks on topics of broad interest, which are used as a jumping-off point for group discussion. Sessions usually take place once a month in social venues such as pubs or cafes.

First Friday Art Walk! Welcome artist Angela Cook! Panigma Steel Drum Band 8-11 p.m.
Join us for August's First Friday Art Walk! This month, artist Angela Cook will be showing acrylics on canvas entitled "Angela's Abstracts". We're very excited about Panigma Steel Drum Band's return to Lost Dog Cafe for some great summer weather tunes! 8-11 p.m.

AUGUST 7, 2010 (SATURDAY 8-10PM)
Live Jazz!! "Woodsheddin': A Tribute to Ralph Fago".
Ralph Fago was a graduate of Binghamton University, and for about 8 years played jazz drums regularly at the Lost Dog with Miles Ahead, and his group, the GLYF Quartet. Ralph passed away this past February, after succoming to an almost decade long battle with Churg Strauss Syndrome, a little known illness. Musicians from Binghamton, Ithaca, and downstate (where Ralph is from) are gathering to play a tribute of the music he loved including jazz standards plus some of his original compositions. The line up features Tina Lama (bass), Mike Carbone (sax), Greg Gordon (piano), Colleen Clark (drums) as well as local musicians and Binghamton University Alum. Please join us in remember Ralph and for a delightful evening of jazz. Thanks to Tina Lama for organizing this wonderful event.

Lost Dog Cafe's 17th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration!
Join us for Fat Tuesday fun at our 17th annual Mardi Gras Party! The evening starts at 5 p.m. when the doors open for the most fun party of the year. From 6:00 to 9:30 we're welcoming back our favorite Mardi Gras Band Basin Street Dixieland Jazz Band. We'll have yummy Cajun and Creole Specialties plus some items from our regular menu. Lots of Masks, Beads & don't forget...THE KING CAKE! Enjoy a complimentary piece...if you discover the baby in your piece, you'll wear a crown and get your meal for free! Also check out mask artisan E.L. Downey and her masquerade themed masks...she has been hanging her extraordinary work here at Lost Dog Cafe every Mardi Gras for the last decade! Welcome families to Binghamton for Binghamton University 2011 commencement ceremonies! Join us for Graduation Grunch "(i.e. graduation + brunch". We're open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be serving a special menu of some breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Lost Dog Cafe easily accommodates larger groups in the cafe.
